The conversation around the global celebration of music rose for the second year in a row. For fans, it was a chance to share and appreciate their favorite songs. For artists, it’s becoming a great opportunity to engage with audiences and announce new releases
Originally launched in France in 1982, World Music Day is now held annually in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Fans and all kinds of musicians take part by pouring onto streets and parks, as well as on social media, to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. With 86.6K of mentions, the conversation around the event was on the rise for the second year in a row.
To understand the main interests and conversation topics from the World Music Day community, Maven Road performed a Social Listening and an Audience analysis to measure the impact that the event has had on June 21st, 2022, as well as to benchmark the evolution of conversations over the past four years.
